CHAPTER 24

Zyaire

I was honestly surprised at the way both me and Skye handled that. I really thought Kazyia was a trifling bitch. I mean she is but she just got caught up in the wrong shit. She gave me all the information I need to get rid of Devin for both mine and her sake. I don’t think I could live with myself knowing that baby went to foster care and I could have prevented it. Devin fucked up the first time when he attacked my little sister. Coming after my money and my family though wasn’t a good move. Yea I could make the money back that wasn’t the problem my problem was all the lives you took when you raided my traps. There were kids out there that could have been hurt and the elderly. I lost a few of my men and a few bystanders because I wouldn’t let him in my organization. Kaziya was out of my life and that was a good thing. That was the least of my problems now, once she called me with the info on Devin he would be taken care of too.

“What’s on your mind baby?” Skye said wrapping her hands around my waist as I looked out my patio door.

“I feel good about what I just did. You know firsthand the things I wanted to do to that girl but honestly I think I made the right choice.”

“I think so too.” she said and walked into the living room to get the baby.

Now that this was over with it gave me more time to deal with everything else I had going on. I was finally opening up another club. Skye’s boutique was going good and my daughter was healthy and happy. I had a secret that I was hiding form Skye that could make or break our relationship. I didn’t quite no how to tell her but I might as well just come out with it.

“Baby I need to talk to you.”

‘What’s wrong?”

“I need you to sit down first.”

“Zyaire what’s wrong? Just tell me please.”

“Your mom’s dead.” I blurted out

Her facial expression never changed she just sat there. She stood up slowly and walked upstairs. I didn’t know if I should follow her or not so I sat there. Moments later she came back down with a wooden chest. She opened it and it was filled with pictures and letters.

“Years ago when she first left me I would write her these letters telling her how I felt. At one point I wanted her to die. She was already dead to me many years ago. Yes she was my mother, but all she really did was birth me. She stopped being my mother a long time ago. She caused me to go into labor early which only buried her deeper. Honestly, I don’t even care that she’s dead. I do wanna know what happened.”

“The people she owed money to was a good friend of mine. He called me after the fact because he saw your picture in her house.
